Abortion

I agree to the idea that teenagers who become mothers have grim prospects in the future because of the fact that it puts serious limits on what she is able to do. When the mother gives birth, her life then becomes a matter of tending to the baby unless she puts it up for adoption. Having a child is something that requires an incredible amount of time and with time like that that needs to be spent, there is not much time for anything else. The father of the child if he is still around, needs to have a job to support his child and often times this means he only has time for job and school if even that. Some have to drop out of school to take care of the child and its mother. If the father and mother drop out of school then they do not have their diploma and because of this career choices also become very limited. All of these factors make parenting very difficult at that age and because of this I don't recommend teenage pregnancies unless the mother is fully capable of easily supporting the child. Some times the father may run away to escape responsabilities and sometimes because the pregnancy was a mistake, either way this would land the mother all alone to raise the baby herself which dumps everything on her.

History

The idea that History is not objectively true because it was written by the winners is completely false and it is somewhat an ironic statement coming from Paige. Being a post modernist, it would be contradictory for her to make any truth claims especially one about history and what within that is true and what isn't because of the fact that post modernists do not believe in truth or that it exists. Next I would like to adress her actual claim. To start, it is important to remember that everyone has their own history an everyone writes it so we cannot assume that we are the only ones with history books. Along with this we must realize that in order for Paige to be correct every different country or group that writes its history books would have to have a differing story from everyone elses which is not the case because we as people all are aware of the fact that certain events did indeed happen and are known by all to be truth. To add to this many historical happenings are recorded by eye witnesses such as wars.

Socialism 2

There is a serious problem with socialism that seemed to be prettyclear to me, and that is motivation. If money is redistributed equally to all people no matter what, then we are only wealthy as long as we as people are willing to work. What this means is that if everyone gets the same amount of money then what i the oint in working, people will slowly lose motivation to work at all since they will be payed anyways. Once enough people stop working, the amount of money that is being given to the people will be lowered and before you know it the united states will as a people be in poverty. This idea also betrays the idea of getting payed for how hard you worked, the concept that you earn what you earn and if you dont work then you do not earn money.

Socialism

Micheal Moore states that socialism will be the same as all of the major religions and that we need to embrace a free and open society where a strong moral and ethical code exists. Part of this i would agree with and pert i would not because of how different belief systems work. I would entirely agree with the idea of having a strong moral code where people are selfless and work together to have a peaceful society, however when everythin and everyone is made equal to one another in the context that socialism would embrace, problems would arise. Before we even got to a socialistic economy we have to realize that we are a diverse people with various beliefs, many of which are so set up against one another that the people would never be able to arive to a solid conclusion as to what the proper society should look like.

secular government

I think that the results of a world secular government would be catstrophic and have several severe consequences. In today's world we can see that as secularism gros in our government alone, severe changes come about that go against Christianity. Secularists and more specifically atheism and post modernism push towards equality and the growing trait of tolerance. However, with tolerence comes an intolerance for religion since religion does not accept all other views. It strives for complete tolerance and is intolerant of anything or anyone that isn't which is in itself a contradiction but it is a contradiction that seems to slip by undetected. Because of this intolerance for the sake of tolerance i believe that in order to acheive their goal they would slowly push religion out of the picture claiming tha it is an obstacle of threat to the developement of society. Even further I believe that certain laws would be removed and certain practices seen as totally normal such as abortion, homosexuality, ect. People would try so hard to escape responsability that eventually restrictions upon most debated topics today would be lifted and we would enter into more of a completely most modern world than anything. It would soon become the popular view among all people and because of it morality would slowly disappear.

Justice and Equality

The article speaks of a type of Justice and equality very different from the Justice and equality we see in these verses in the Bible. In the verses states God tells us about law as being an act of love and that it is for our own good, it is a pure and good thing which should be followed for healthy reasons. The law of the article on the other hand seems to speak of a law in the United States that is oppressive and selfish in every way. It is seen as a way for those in government to hold their spot at the top of the food chain as well as form rules based off of their needs and wants. It is a selfish system of greedy people who are oppressing the people for personal gain. God wills for us to show justice by loving others to the best of our ability so that we can spread the message of God's love to the world in the best way we know how. We are all created equal as men and we all have the ability to love.

Islam Law

Islam law shows a set of rules and government similar yet so very different from that of Christianity. We as Christians follow the Word of God and strive to upkeep the laws in order to become more like God, whereas Islam seems to only have a set of laws made by Allah for them to follow for reasons that only he knows. Islam law seems to show an extremely strict set of laws where severe punishment will come for anyone who disobeys. For example, the punishment for stealing is usually to cut off the persons hands, which is an extremely brutal punishment for a crime of that sort. The disciplinary system of Islam instills fear into anyone subject to it, whereas we as Christians have laws, but do not rely on fear to drive people into believing. Christianity holds a set of rules for its people to follow but does not cause the people following those rules to fear for their lives. God wills for us to love our neighbor and above all other laws love God, which will lead to a life filled with joy in knowing that you are filling your life and others with love. Islam has no such command and instead thrives off of an order to follow the will of Allah or face severe consequences to the point of death.

government

I believe as a Christian that societies are not the ones who create law. As Christians we believe that God is the ultimate law giver and that in the beginning he set up the rules. He established laws for his creation in order to show them what he wants from them and for them as his followers. They also serve the purpose of reflecting upon the character of God, in that we can look at the laws He has established and in turn see characteristics of who he is and what He wants. As far as Christianity goes, I believe that societies do not create laws, but as for Sarah, seeing that she has a secular humanist worldview, it would be logical for her to believe that societies are the only form of law giver since they are against the belief of a divine power.

Feminity

Since the beginning women have been designed with the job of completing the man because God saw that He himself could not meet mans physical needs. She was put in place to serve as a comforter and nurturer, a figure that would complete all of mans needs and serve as his partner. She is a defensive warrior over her children and takes care of the household while the man is still responsible for the household as a whole larger unit.

Church and Homophobia

I do agree that some people are hostile and negative towards homosexuals, but i would completely disagree with the idea that the Bible teaches us to reject them or be afraid of them in any way. We are told to first and foremost love God with everything we have, and the second greatest commandment is to love our neighbor. This applies to everybody and does not in any way exclude homosexuals. While the Bible disapproves of the lifestyle that they live, we are still to love and care for them so that they can see the lve of God through his servants. it is perfectly possible to love someone while still disagreeing with them. Homosexuality is a sin like any other and shouldnt be hated the way it is so much today. I find it rediculous that a person has enough hate within them to shun and mock someone simply because of a differing lifestyle. Hatred like that is not a good example of Christ's love at all and if anything gives evidence for those that call Christians hateful hypocrits. Homosexuals are people just like you and I and are every bit as much deserving of God's love through his followers.

The state and parenting

I think that the state taking over perenting is a very terrible idea for many reasons. Secular humanist ideals are being pushed into the state more and more as time goes on and my letting them control parenting it ushes those ideals upon everyone. God makes it clear that family is an important thing and that parenting is vital so that the parents can teach their children to love God. In todays society where homosexuality and countless other forms of immorality are being accepted and tought as normal lifestyles, having that sort of education brought into the Christian household between parents and their kids would destroy any hope of a parent being able to teach their kids the right way to live.
